Artifacts provide not only tangible links to the past, but offer a medium through which history’s many complexities can be explored and understood. In commemoration of Winchester’s 275th anniversary the Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society and Shenandoah University have partnered to produce this volume which explores the city’s diverse history through a series of fifty artifacts from the Society’s collections, local museums, historic sites, and archives.
